Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your Moroccan adventure.

Yes, Morocco is generally very safe for solo travelers. Moroccans are known for their hospitality. However, like any destination, it’s important to use common sense, respect local customs, and dress modestly, especially outside of major tourist areas.

The best times to visit Morocco are during the spring (mid-March to May) and autumn (September to October). The weather is warm but pleasant, making it perfect for exploring cities or heading into the desert.

Citizens of the US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand do not need a visa for tourist visits of up to 90 days. You just need a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry.

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing that covers your shoulders and knees out of respect for local culture. Don’t forget comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a warm layer for the evenings, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially in the desert.

The official currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Credit cards are accepted in larger hotels and restaurants, but it’s advisable to carry cash for souks, smaller shops, and rural areas. ATMs are widely available in cities.
